The Walker Foundation has joined #GivingTuesday, a one of a kind effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners — charities, families, businesses and individuals — to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world. Taking place December 1, 2015 — the Tuesday after Thanksgiving — #GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a national moment around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are, today, synonymous with holiday shopping.
Each day students from all over South Carolina who are deaf, blind and/or multi-disabled are receiving the highest quality education from the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind. Because of individuals, companies, corporations, foundations and the State of South Carolina, these children are achieving their highest potential.
This Tuesday is no different. Our students are in their classrooms learning to read braille, learning to communicate using American Sign Language, and participating in job skills training programs.
They believe they can because YOU believe they can.
This Tuesday we hope you will join the others who will make a financial investment in the lives of our precious students. Your tax deductible donation truly makes a difference.
Together we will continue to empower our students to achieve great success.
